Cooking and wanting to add a little something extra to benefits you and your fellow diners?

Turns out CBD is great for including in most recipes. From Salads to traditional Mexican fare, you can't go wrong. Today we're going to cover some of the principals that are used for cooking with this great oil.
CBD is lipid-soluble and is therefore extremely easy to add into a massive variety of recipes when infusing it with a fatty base ingredient, such as butter or coconut oil. The cannabinoid can easily be added to a variety of dishes in the form of dressings, sauces, and marinades. This should get your culinary creativity going, as well as your appetite!

So, you’re new to CBD and you have decided to give it a shot. Great! Perhaps you have already taken the plunge and bought some CBD oil, only to find that it doesn’t taste so great. While there are flavored options available, it would be a waste to toss away the rest of the bottle.

Why Cook With CBD

There are of course many ways to take CBD. Some of the most popular methods include sublingual oils (which you drop under your tongue), capsules, vaping e-liquids, and even topical moisturizers. Whichever method you choose is of course up to you, but generally speaking sublingual oils are one of the most popular and seem to offer the most long-lasting effects.

However, sublingual oils are not for everyone. It can be tough trying to count the number of drops you’re placing below the tongue, not to mention hold them there for up to two minutes before swallowing.

Furthermore, unflavored CBD oils have a fairly strong ‘hemp’ taste, which can be pretty raw and earthy (i.e. they may not be to everyone’s liking). This does not mean you should rule out oils, though; even if you don’t like the taste, you can use most any CBD oil to cook with. This eliminates the quirky taste and cumbersome dosing techniques, and actually turns it into a taste sensation!

If you like cooking, then cooking with CBD is an excellent option. By making easy recipes and snacks that you can leave in the fridge, you can make sure you’re getting a generous serving of CBD each day. It’s wonderfully easy to fit into your routine, and can even be a good way to introduce CBD into your family’s lives.

If you're not so happy about having to take the oil sublingually, then here's a good start:

Cooking seems to make things boil down or change it's efficacy and can be difficult to know how much dosage is right for the medium.

In terms of the amount of CBD you’ll be getting in each recipe, that’s totally up to you. One might even have to bust out the calculator and do a little bit of math when it comes to working how much CBD you’ll need for each serving. Still, it's worth it as ingesting any supplement or vitamin with food helps the overall absorption rate in the stomach. So first, let's get out the tincture and see what milligram dosage you'll be measuring to work with.

Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD, is a dietary supplement that has many unique properties. It comes from the Cannabis sativa plant, usually from a form called hemp. CBD is a phytocannabinoid, meaning that it is one of the active compounds found in cannabis plants.

All cannabinoids have the ability to interact with the human body. This is because we have a biological system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which works to regulate bodily functions and homeostasis. You might think of the system as a way to ping your internal balance and equilibrium.

What’s more, CBD is safe to take and is well-tolerated in humans, according to the World Health Organization. It has been shown to be non-addictive, completely non-intoxicating (it won’t get you high!) and it poses very few risks in terms of adverse side effects. For this reason, many people are turning to CBD to improve their general health and live a better life. So far, the results are proving very positive!

So, now that you know it’s possible to cook with CBD, what can you do with it?

Three Ways to Cook With CBD Oil

As stated before, the characteristic oil binds with food quite well. However, only certain kinds of foods are really effective at delivering the oil to your stomach without losing fractions of it on the cup, bowl, or whatever medium you're eating or drinking from.

Almond Butter/Grass Fed Butter

It's possible to infuse a bit of your favorite cooking medium to use later when preparing a few that must be sauteed. This also applies to cooking eggs or something similar.

Baking also benefits from an infused butter.

CBD Infused Smoothies

If you're more of a smoothie or shake kind of person, it's easy enough to just add some MCT oil and CBD oil to the blender itself and as the cyclone mixes everything together and keeps the oils relatively contained to the shake itself.

CBD Coffee

A caffeine fix is possible too, you might want to try out CBD coffee as it is becoming very popular. The infusion with coffee might just be the sign that CBD has gone mainstream. Just make sure you have hot coffee and a whisk. The motion of moving air and the oil together is the key to getting a good infusion. Just whisk until you get a good lather going.
